“Fundamentals of Painting”:
The aim of the class is to teach you to think, see, and express light and form using still-life setups and live models. Color relationships, design/composition, simplifying, and the benefits of painting indoors/outdoors will be discussed, as well as how to design and build a painting that carries an emotional impact.
The class will offer demonstrations and individual instruction for the student who is beginning to paint in oil. We will focus on values, shapes, edges, and color as they relate to painting, working wet into wet to complete a painting in one session.
The venue varies from working on your own project to class exercises, an occasional live model, movie, slide presentation, etc.
The three hour class runs from 7 to 10 pm on Tuesday nights. The fee is $60.00 for three hours.

Join this award-winning California artist to learn how to interpret Nature in terms of paint, using light and color to create form in scenic Sedona, AZ.
The workshop is for all levels of artists who want to learn the time-honored joy of plein air painting. The workshop will offer a brief demonstration each day and advice on a one-on-one basis in the field. Exercises include creating small 6x8 color sketches, where students will paint color block-ins and value studies prior to working with their larger canvases. Workshop is limited to twelve students. French Impressionists and translates as "painting in the open air."

observation has made it a lasting tradition which is especially needed in these
